Visor Shipping Update
Dear Visor Community,
We understand how eager everyone is to get their hands on Visor. We agree that it’s one thing to see demo videos of it, but it’s a whole other thing to actually experience it. The best way we can describe Visor is “perplexing” because we’ve never experienced something so lightweight (186 grams), yet so high resolution (25M pixels). We’re sprinting as fast as possible (even to a fault) to get Visor to you.
Our team’s been fortunate to improve many inefficiencies in the hardware development process in ways that our tech partners didn’t know would be possible, which helped originally cut the typical hardware development timeline by 60%-65%. This is also partly because Immersed had a headstart with the software for 7 years, and others have iterated on the supporting hardware components for even longer. So, we’re grateful that Visor is beating the typical hardware development timeline by a very large margin.
Even so, our tech partners, thought-leader friends, and many of our users agree that a little bit more time is ideal to polish the experience, have a stronger grip on quality control for the long-term success of Visor, and to ensure the premium quality you all deserve. Immersed and our partners are targeting initial Founder’s Edition deliveries starting in January, followed by a ramp-up period during the following 1-2 months. Mass production for the standard Visor 4K will begin Summer 2025.
Your patience allows us to address feedback from demos, and ensure Visor is something everyone will be proud to show off to their colleagues, friends, and family. Speed is important, but delivering an exceptional product is imperative.
As a thank you for the patience of those who have Visor pre-orders, we are offering you all free Premium Home Environments for life (even after the Visor Plus term is over), and a free upgrade to the Flare Visor case (slightly transparent cover).
As an additional courtesy, free Premium Home Environments for life and a free upgrade to the Flare Visor case will also apply to those who’ve decided to reserve their Visor before the price increases to $499 upfront (with Visor Plus membership) on October 15th.
Building on the strong demand for Visor encourages our partners to even further prioritize and allocate additional resources to the project. Even if Immersed loses some money in giving away things for free in the shorter term, showing excitement and demand for Visor to our partners will benefit everyone in the long-run.
We appreciate your continued support and trust in us. This is not an easy feat to pull off, but since we’ve overcome the most difficult parts of this entire process, our team and partners believe that Visor’s delivery (and unparalleled experience) is now inevitable.
